Are you interested in helping the community? If so, why not become a member of the Waubeka Fire Department? By joining our team, you will be helping us to help others. Waubeka Fire Department has three basic memberships:
Active Membership consists of members who serve as firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, or Emergency First Responders. They are required to give a minimum of sixty hours of service time per year. This may include but not be limited to regular meetings, scheduled department training sessions, enrolled courses, emergency and non-emergency calls, fundraising, and other fire department activities. Active members must answer all calls for fire and/or medical emergencies. They may be asked to perform any other duties as assigned by the officer-in-charge.
Associate Membership in Waubeka Fire Department consists of members who contribute to the general good of the department without the credentials of an Active member. They are expected to answer emergency calls for which they may have a limited role such as ambulance driver or general support. Associate members may participate in maintenance and care of all vehicles and buildings as well as fire prevention activities and fundraising. They may be asked to perform any other duties as assigned by the office-in-charge.
Explorer Membership in Waubeka Fire Department is open to any person between the ages of 14 and 18 who is enrolled as a student in Grades 9-12. The purpose of this membership is to give young prospects the opportunity to “explore” the work of the firefighter. As Explorer members of the department, they are also a part of a larger group of Explorers from Adell, Fillmore, Random Lake, and Silver Creek Fire Departments. Explorers participate in in-house trainings, fire prevention activities, and fundraising. They are further involved in limited duties on fire calls.
